Mammootty to play Chanthu once again ?

The huge success of Baahubali has perhaps prompted Malayalam filmmakers to try a subject based on historic period dramas. Malayalam cinema itself has three such big projects in the early stages, Already announcement has been made about the 1000 crores Randamoozham in which Mohanlal is the hero, Prithviraj’s Karnan and debutant Sidhil Subramanian’s Chengazhi Nambiar. As per the latest reports, another such project is also being planned in Malayalam.

Recently in an interview, Legendary director Hariharan said that he is currently having a discussion with director Ranjith regarding the scripting of another Vadakkan paattu saga, of ‘Payyamvelli Chanthu’. Scenarist Ranjith has already begun working on the screenplay of Payyampally Chandu. The team is only announce the project officially, once Ranjith completed the script.

Hariharan also expressed his deep excitement over the Mohanlal-MT Vasudevan Nair’s movie Randamoozham, stated that the multi-lingual project is a huge inspiration for the makers to come forward and direct in big budget movies.
