Aami

Aami is an upcoming biopic film in Malayalam based on the life of iconic writer Kamala Das alias Kamala Surayya alias Madhavikutty. The movie is directed by the ace filmmaker Kamal. Manju Warrier plays the lead role in the biopic. The director’s first choice to play the role was Vidya Balan. However, the actress backed off just days before the film was scheduled to start rolling without any clear reason.

Apart from Manju, the film also stars like Prithviraj, Anoop Menon in the prominent roles. The film is produced by Raphael P Thomas and Roban Rocha under the banner of Real and Real Cinema, and M.Jayachandran is handling the music department. Madhu Neelakandan has cranked the camera while Sreekar Prasad is in charge of the edits.
